Our Wood Effect Patio Grey is a plank-format outdoor porcelain slab designed to replicate the look of natural timber. At 1200 x 305mm it lays in long, narrow boards like real decking, and suits patios, garden pathways, borders, balconies, and schemes replacing timber decking across domestic and commercial landscaping.

The soft grey tones give the character of weathered timber — the grain, the knots, the plank-to-plank variation — without any of the upkeep. Porcelain does not rot, warp, splinter, or need sanding, oiling, or staining, and it will not go green and slippery through a wet winter the way timber decking does. Grey in particular suits contemporary gardens and sits well with anthracite windows and bi-folds, grey render and cladding, and modern planting schemes, where a brown plank would read as more traditional.

Fired at very high temperatures into a dense, virtually non-porous slab, it absorbs almost no water, so it resists frost, holds its colour in sunlight, and shrugs off moss, algae, grease, and food and drink stains. There is no sealing to do, just an occasional wash, and a textured outdoor finish keeps it grippy underfoot in wet weather. The plank format suits staggered and stretcher bond patterns. Bed on a full mortar bed with a slurry primer applied to the back of each slab, and cut with a diamond blade rated for porcelain.
