Our Rosa Almond Porcelain Paving is a large-format outdoor porcelain slab for patios, terraces, pathways, and garden seating areas. At 900 x 600mm it covers ground quickly with fewer joints than smaller paving, giving the clean, open finish that suits contemporary gardens, outdoor dining areas, and patios designed to run on from the house.

Almond is a soft, warm off-white with cream and pale sand undertones, sitting between a bright white and a buff. It is one of the easiest paving colours to build a scheme around, working with buff and red brick, timber decking and fencing, stone walling, and planting of almost any colour, where a strong grey or a stark white would commit the garden in one direction. Pale paving also reflects light into shaded and north-facing areas and stays cooler underfoot through summer than darker slabs.

Fired at very high temperatures into a dense, virtually non-porous body, porcelain absorbs almost no water, so it resists frost, will not fade in sunlight, and shrugs off the moss, algae, grease, and food and drink stains that mark natural stone — an advantage that counts for more in a pale colour. There is no sealing to do and no annual restoration, just an occasional wash, and the textured outdoor finish keeps the surface grippy in wet weather. Bed on a full mortar bed with a slurry primer applied to the back of each slab, as porcelain's low porosity means mortar alone will not bond reliably, and cut with a diamond blade rated for porcelain.
