Our Rasa Niro Porcelain Paving is a large-format outdoor porcelain slab for patios, terraces, pathways, and garden seating areas. At 900 x 600mm it covers ground quickly with fewer joints than smaller paving, giving the clean, open finish that suits contemporary gardens, outdoor dining areas, and patios designed to run on from the house.

Dark paving does something no other colour can: it sets everything around it off. Light render, pale furniture, and green planting all read more sharply against a dark surface, and the whole scheme gains definition, which is why dark slabs have become a mainstay of contemporary garden design. A dark patio is also the most forgiving to live with, as dirt, leaf marks, and general weathering show far less than they do on pale stone.

Fired at very high temperatures into a dense, virtually non-porous slab, porcelain absorbs almost no water, so it resists frost, will not fade in sunlight, and shrugs off the moss, algae, grease, and food and drink stains that mark natural stone. There is no sealing to do and no annual restoration, just an occasional wash, and the textured outdoor finish keeps the surface grippy underfoot in wet weather. Bed on a full mortar bed with a slurry primer applied to the back of each slab, as porcelain's low porosity means mortar alone will not bond reliably, and cut with a diamond blade rated for porcelain.
