Our Kiara Ivory Porcelain Paving is a large-format outdoor porcelain slab for patios, terraces, pathways, and garden seating areas. At 900 x 595mm it covers ground quickly with fewer joints than smaller paving, giving the clean, open finish that suits contemporary gardens, outdoor dining areas, and patios designed to run on from the house.

Ivory is the lightest tone in the range — a soft, warm off-white with cream and pale sand undertones rather than the cooler cast of a grey slab. Pale paving lifts a garden considerably, reflecting light into shaded and north-facing spaces and making a small patio feel larger, and it sits well against light render, buff brick, sandstone walling, and green planting. It also runs cooler underfoot in summer than darker paving, which is worth having on a south-facing terrace.

Porcelain is fired at very high temperatures into a dense, virtually non-porous slab, so it absorbs almost no water and resists frost, fading, moss, algae, and staining from grease, wine, and barbecue spills — a particular advantage in a pale colour, where marks would show on natural stone. There is no sealing to do, and an occasional wash keeps it looking new, while the textured outdoor finish holds its grip in wet weather. Bed on a full mortar bed with a slurry primer applied to the back of each slab, as porcelain's low porosity means mortar alone will not bond reliably, and cut with a diamond blade rated for porcelain.
