Our Kandla Grey Porcelain Paving is a large-format outdoor porcelain slab designed for patios, terraces, pathways, and garden seating areas. At 900 x 600mm it covers ground quickly with fewer joints than smaller paving, giving the clean, open finish that suits contemporary gardens, outdoor dining areas, and patios that run on from the house.

Named after the well-known Indian sandstone, Kandla Grey porcelain reproduces the stone's soft grey tones and subtle blue-grey banding while offering the performance of a manufactured slab. Fired at very high temperatures into a dense, virtually non-porous body, it absorbs almost no water, so it resists frost, will not fade in sunlight, and shrugs off the moss, algae, grease, and food and drink stains that mark natural stone. There is no sealing to do and no annual restoration — just an occasional wash with soapy water.

Each slab carries its own variation in tone and pattern, so a laid patio reads as natural rather than repetitive, and the textured outdoor finish keeps the surface grippy underfoot in wet weather. The 900 x 600mm format lays well in straight, stretcher bond, and offset patterns. Porcelain should be bedded on a full mortar bed with a slurry primer applied to the back of each slab, as its low porosity means mortar alone will not bond reliably, and cutting requires a diamond blade rated for porcelain.
