Product Description:

Good and Proper Lead Sheet Sealant is a specialist sealant supplied in a 300ml cartridge in grey, formulated for sealing and pointing lead flashings and roofing details. It is used for sealing the top edge of lead flashings into brick and mortar joints, pointing around chimneys, abutments, and parapets, sealing soakers, valleys, and step flashings, and general lead roofing and repair work.

Sealing lead is a particular problem, and it is why a specialist product exists for it. Lead moves considerably with temperature change, expanding and contracting more than the masonry it is fixed against, which quickly cracks a rigid mortar pointing or a standard sealant and lets water track behind the flashing. This sealant stays permanently flexible after curing, accommodating that movement across the seasons while holding a watertight seal at the joint.

The grey finish matches weathered lead, mortar joints, slate, and grey masonry, so the pointing sits discreetly at the top of a flashing rather than showing as a visible line along the roof. It adheres to lead, brick, stone, concrete, render, and timber, and once cured it is weather and UV resistant for permanently exposed positions. Apply to a clean, dry, dust-free joint using a standard sealant gun, tool the bead smooth before it skins, and remove excess while still wet. Best applied in dry conditions.
