Our Flat Top Edging is a precast concrete edging kerb measuring 914mm long, 150mm high, and 50mm thick, supplied in grey. It is used to form a defined edge to driveways, paths, patios, lawns, and planting beds, and to retain gravel, bark, soil, and other loose materials on both domestic and commercial landscaping projects.

An edging kerb does two jobs at once. It holds the edge of a surface in place, preventing block paving, gravel, or tarmac from spreading sideways and breaking down at the perimeter, and it creates a clean, deliberate line between one area and the next. Along a lawn it also gives a mowing edge, allowing a mower to run right to the boundary without scalping the grass or leaving an untidy strip to trim by hand.

The flat top profile gives a simple, square finish that suits both traditional and contemporary schemes and works equally well laid flush with a surface or raised as a low retaining edge. At 914mm long, the units lay quickly along a run, and the standard length makes it straightforward to calculate quantities. Edgings should be bedded on a concrete haunching mix, with the haunching brought up behind the kerb to hold it in position, and set to a string line to keep the run straight and level. Units can be cut with a disc cutter where a shorter piece or an angle is needed.
