Product Description:

The Faithfull All Steel Draining Shovel is a narrow-bladed digging tool designed for excavating trenches and working in confined spaces. It is used for digging drainage and soakaway trenches, cable and pipe runs, fence post holes, footings, and planting holes, and is a standard tool for groundworkers, landscapers, drainage contractors, and utility teams.

The long, narrow, tapered blade is what distinguishes a draining shovel from a standard spade or shovel. It cuts a deep, tidy trench with straight sides and a clean bottom, removing only the soil that needs to come out rather than widening the excavation unnecessarily. The shape also makes it the right tool for clearing out the bottom of an existing trench, digging around pipes and services with care, and working in tight spots where a wider blade would not fit.

The all-steel construction is built for heavy, repeated use on site. With a steel shaft as well as a steel blade, there is no wooden handle to split, rot, or snap under leverage, which makes it well suited to prising through heavy clay, stony ground, and compacted fill. It stands up to being left outdoors and handles hard treatment without loosening at the joint between blade and shaft, which is where timber-handled shovels most often fail.
