bricksProduct Description:

Our Concrete Common Brick is a dense, strong general-purpose brick measuring 215 x 100 x 65mm, suitable for a wide range of construction work. It is used for inner leaves of cavity walls, internal walls and partitions, garden and boundary walls, foundations, manholes and inspection chambers, and any brickwork that will be rendered, plastered, or hidden from view.

Common bricks are chosen for function and value rather than appearance. Concrete commons are manufactured to a consistent size and strength, which gives accurate coursing, even joints, and predictable performance from one brick to the next, and they are typically more economical than clay facing bricks. That makes them the sensible choice wherever the face of the wall will not be seen, allowing the budget to go on the facing bricks that are.

The dense composition gives the brick good resistance to frost and rain, so it can be used in exposed positions and below ground as well as in sheltered internal work. It also provides useful thermal mass, absorbing and releasing heat slowly to help steady internal temperatures. At 65mm high, it courses in with standard UK brickwork and is compatible with standard mortars, and the finished wall can be plastered, rendered, or dry lined as required.
