Our 45 x 95mm Treated Sawn Timber is a strong, versatile pressure treated softwood supplied in 3.6m lengths. Suitable for stud walls and partitions, internal framing, wall plates and sole plates, shed and workshop construction, fence framing, decking substructures, and general landscaping and outdoor timber work, it is a mainstay section for builders, joiners, and DIY installers alike.

The 3.6m length suits work that runs horizontally rather than vertically. It carries a head or sole plate across an average room in one unbroken piece, avoiding the joints that weaken a frame and slow the job down, and where it is being used for studs it divides cleanly into shorter lengths with minimal waste. At 95mm deep the section gives a solid fixing for plasterboard on both faces while leaving room in the cavity for insulation and services.

Pressure treatment drives preservative deep into the timber under vacuum rather than leaving it sitting on the surface, protecting against fungal decay, rot, and insect attack, and allowing the timber to be used outdoors and in damp locations as well as internally. The sawn finish is left rough from the saw, which suits structural work where strength matters more than appearance and keeps the cost below planed or regularised stock. Fix with galvanised or stainless nails and screws, as the preservative will corrode untreated steel over time, and treat any cut ends with end grain preservative.
