Product Description:
Our regularised sawn timber is a dependable construction-grade softwood supplied in cut lengths and machined to a uniform section on all four faces. It is well suited to floor and ceiling joists, rafters and roof timbers, stud partitions, noggins, wall plates, decking substructures, and general framing, and is used equally by builders, joiners, and DIY installers on both new work and repairs.
What separates regularised stock from rough sawn is the finishing process. The timber is passed through a planer to bring every length to the same section from end to end, taking off the slight variations in depth and width that occur during sawing and leaving cleaner faces and tidier edges. On site this means joists sit level with one another across a span, studwork lines through without packing, and boards, plasterboard, or decking fix down flat rather than following the high and low spots of an uneven frame.
The smoother surface also makes the timber easier and safer to handle, with far less risk of splinters when carrying and cutting, and it takes preservative, paint, and stain more evenly where it will be left on show. Lengths cut cleanly with a standard saw and fix using nails, screws, or joist hangers as required. Store flat and under cover before use to keep the timber straight, and treat any cut ends where preservative protection is needed.
