Product Description:

This box supplies 200 woodscrews at 5.0 x 50mm, a heavy-gauge screw with enough length for light framing and load-bearing fixings. It suits fixing noggins and blocking, assembling timber frames and garden structures, fitting heavy hinges, hangers, and brackets, fixing bearers and joist trimmers, decking and fence framing, and fixing thick boards and sheet material to studwork.

At 50mm the screw drives well into the timber behind while staying short enough to avoid breaking through standard framing sections. Fixing through an 18mm or 22mm board it still reaches close to 30mm into the stud, and the 5.0mm gauge gives the shank strength to take that load without flexing or shearing under drive. It is the size to choose where the connection carries weight rather than simply holding a trim or panel in place.

The screw is built around how it grips. A single thread cuts cleanly into the timber and compresses the fibres as it drives, giving strong pull-out resistance so joints stay tight over time, while the countersunk head pulls flush into the surface and the reinforced drive recess holds the bit securely with less cam-out. Pilot holes are worth drilling in hardwoods and close to end
