Our 22 x 100mm Treated Sawn Timber is a pressure treated softwood board supplied rough sawn in 4.8m lengths. This light, economical section is widely used for battening, fence rails and framing, shed and workshop cladding supports, trellis and pergola work, and general outdoor carpentry, making it a useful all-round board for builders, landscapers, and DIY installers alike.

Pressure treatment draws preservative deep into the timber under vacuum rather than leaving it sitting on the surface, giving lasting protection against fungal decay, wet and dry rot, and insect attack. This is what allows the board to be used outdoors and in damp locations where untreated softwood would begin to break down within a few seasons. The treatment leaves a green tint that weathers naturally to silver-grey, or can be overpainted with a coloured preservative or stain once the timber has dried out.

The 4.8m length is the practical advantage of this option over shorter boards. It runs a full four-post fence bay or a long cladding course without joining, cutting down on the number of joints, offcuts, and fixings across a larger job, and it divides cleanly into shorter lengths where needed. Supplied rough sawn, the board carries the texture straight from the saw, which suits outdoor work where a smooth finish is not required and keeps the cost below planed or regularised stock. Fix with galvanised or stainless nails and screws, as the preservative will corrode untreated steel over time, and treat any cut ends with end grain preservative.
