Our 12mm Standard MDF is a high-quality engineered board designed for a wide range of joinery, furniture, and interior finishing projects. Manufactured by bonding fine wood fibres with resin under heat and pressure, it is ideal for cabinetry, shelving, wardrobe and door linings, panelling, skirting, worktop templates, and general carpentry work in both domestic and commercial settings.

The uniform composition of the board is what sets MDF apart from solid timber. With no grain, knots, or voids running through it, the board cuts cleanly in any direction, machines well for routed and shaped edges, and holds its shape without warping, splitting, or twisting, making it a dependable choice for precise work and intricate detailing. The 12mm thickness offers a good balance between rigidity and weight, suiting panels, drawer bases, backs, and shelving over shorter spans.

The smooth, consistent face is ready for painting with minimal preparation and takes primer, paint, and veneer evenly, allowing for anything from a flat modern finish to traditional moulded detailing. At 2440 x 1220mm, each sheet covers 2.98m² and can be worked with standard tools and fixings. Cut edges are more porous than the face and should be sealed or primed before painting for the best result, and pilot holes are recommended when screwing close to an edge.
