Our Kiara Grey Porcelain Paving is a large-format outdoor porcelain slab for patios, terraces, pathways, and garden seating areas. At 900 x 595mm it covers ground quickly with fewer joints than smaller paving, giving the clean, open finish that suits contemporary gardens, outdoor dining areas, and patios designed to run on from the house.

Porcelain is fired at very high temperatures into a dense, virtually non-porous slab, which is what gives it the advantage over natural stone outdoors. It absorbs almost no water, so it resists frost, will not fade in sunlight, and shrugs off the moss, algae, grease, and food and drink stains that mark porous paving. There is no sealing to do and no annual restoration — an occasional wash with soapy water keeps it looking as it did the day it was laid, and the textured outdoor finish holds its grip underfoot in wet weather.

Each slab carries its own variation in tone and surface pattern, so a laid patio reads as natural rather than repetitive, and the 900 x 595mm format lays well in straight, stretcher bond, and offset patterns. Porcelain should be bedded on a full mortar bed with a slurry primer applied to the back of each slab, as its low porosity means mortar alone will not bond reliably, and cutting requires a diamond blade rated for porcelain.
