Good and Proper Gun Grade Foam is a polyurethane expanding foam supplied in a 750ml canister for use with a foam applicator gun. It is used for filling large and irregular gaps around window and door frames, fixing frames, boards, and tiles in position, insulating around pipes, cables, and service penetrations, sealing gaps in roofs, floors, and cavities, and providing a backing for sealant joints.

The foam expands up to thirty times its original volume as it cures, which is what allows it to fill voids that would be impractical to pack out with any solid material. As it expands it presses into every irregularity in the opening, forming a continuous seal against draughts, sound, and heat loss while bonding to timber, brick, block, concrete, plaster, and most plastics.

The gun grade format is the choice for anyone doing the job regularly or working through a larger installation. Fitted to an applicator gun, the flow is controlled by trigger pressure, so the bead can be laid precisely where it is needed, and the gun can be put down and picked back up over the course of a job without the canister setting solid, as a hand-held one will once opened. That makes it more economical on multi-window installations and site work, where the hand-held version suits one-off and smaller repairs. Surfaces should be clean and lightly moistened before application for the best adhesion and cell structure, and the cured foam can be cut, sanded, plastered, or painted.
