This box supplies 100 wood screws at 6.0 x 150mm, the longest screw in the range, intended for heavy landscaping and structural timber work. It suits stacking and fixing sleepers for raised beds, retaining walls, and garden steps, joining heavy posts, beams, and framing timbers, building pergolas, carports, and timber structures, fixing bearers and heavy decking substructures, and any connection through thick sections where a shorter screw would not pass through and still bite.

At 150mm the screw is built for timber of real depth. Driving through a 95mm sleeper it reaches 55mm into the one beneath, enough to lock two courses firmly together, and through doubled-up framing or packed-out members it still makes a proper structural connection into the piece beyond. The 6.0mm gauge gives the shank the strength to carry that load and to resist the twisting forces involved in driving a screw this long into dense, wet, or treated timber.

The screw is built around how it grips. A single thread cuts cleanly into the timber and compresses the fibres as it drives, giving high pull-out resistance so heavy joints stay tight under load, while the countersunk head pulls flush into the surface and the reinforced drive recess holds the bit securely under very high torque. Pilot holes are strongly recommended at this length, particularly in sleepers, hardwoods, and near the ends of timbers, and an impact driver or high-torque driver is advisable, as driving 150mm into dense timber by hand or with a light drill is difficult and increases the risk of shearing the screw.
