Product Description:

FIXT Performance Woodscrews are a general-purpose construction screw designed for timber work indoors and out. Suitable for framing and studwork, decking and fencing, shed and workshop construction, joinery, flooring, and general carpentry and repair work, they are used equally by trades and DIY installers.

The screw is built around how it grips. A wide single thread cuts cleanly into the timber and compresses the fibres as it drives, giving high pull-out resistance so joints stay tight rather than working loose over time. The recessed double countersunk head adds strength at the point where a screw is most likely to fail, resisting snapping under high torque, and the reinforced drive recess holds the bit securely so it is less prone to camming out and rounding off, which speeds up repetitive work and saves ruined fixings.

A Yellow Tropicalised coating gives a high level of corrosion resistance, allowing the screws to be used outdoors and in damp conditions as well as internally, and they are fully CE and UKCA certified. Pilot holes are worth drilling when fixing close to the end or edge of a timber to avoid splitting, and screw length should be chosen to give good penetration into the second piece of timber, typically at least twice the thickness of the piece being fixed.
