Our Black Drywall Screws are designed for fixing plasterboard to metal stud, drywall track, and ceiling track systems. Supplied in a box of 1,000, they are suitable for partition walls, suspended and MF ceilings, wall linings, and general dry lining work across domestic and commercial projects.

The 42mm length is the step up for heavier board and thicker build-ups. It gives extra penetration where 15mm fire-rated or acoustic plasterboard is being fixed, where a board is going over an uneven or packed-out substrate, or where a second layer of plasterboard is being added and the screw needs to pass through both before biting into the track. The longer shank gives a firmer hold on heavier boards, particularly overhead on ceilings where the fixing is carrying the full weight of the board.

The bugle head seats neatly into the board face without tearing the paper liner, leaving a clean recess ready for filling and finishing, while the sharp point pierces light-gauge steel quickly and the black phosphate coating helps the screw drive smoothly and resist corrosion. Drive with a drywall screw gun or a cordless driver with a depth-setting attachment, setting the head just below the surface without breaking the paper. Always follow the plasterboard manufacturer's guidance on fixing centres and screw length, particularly for fire-rated and acoustic systems.
