Our 12.5mm Square Edge Plasterboard is a strong, versatile building board designed for use across a wide range of internal construction projects. Consisting of a gypsum core encased in heavy-duty paper liners, it is suitable for wall linings, ceilings, stud partitions, and dry lining work in both residential and commercial buildings.

The 12.5mm thickness is the standard specification for most internal walls and ceilings, offering a good level of impact resistance along with basic fire protection and a useful reduction in sound transfer between rooms. It provides a flat, consistent surface ready to take skim plaster, tape and jointing compound, or direct decoration, making it a reliable choice for builders, plasterers, and DIY installers alike.

The square edge profile is best suited to boards that will be skim plastered or where joints are covered by battens or coving, as it does not have the tapered recess required for a flush taped-and-jointed finish. At 2400 x 1200mm, each board covers 2.88m² and fits standard 400mm and 600mm stud and joist centres. Boards can be cut with a plasterboard saw or scored and snapped, and fixed using drywall screws or nails.
