Longrake Scottish Cobbles are large, naturally rounded stones in mixed grey, brown, cream, and pink tones, supplied in a 20kg handy bag. The 40–90mm size suits water features and pond edging, rockeries and dry stream beds, borders and feature beds, pot toppings, and decorative dressing where a bold, natural stone is wanted.

Cobbles are chosen for their shape and scale rather than for coverage. Smoothed and rounded by water over a long period, each stone is substantial enough to be seen individually rather than reading as a surface, which is why they work so well around ponds and water features, as edging to beds and borders, and for creating dry stream beds and naturalistic rockery arrangements. The mixed natural colouring varies from stone to stone and deepens noticeably when wet.

Their weight is a practical advantage too. Large cobbles stay exactly where they are put, so they will not scatter, wash out in heavy rain, or be kicked about as smaller gravel can, which makes them useful for edging, for holding down membrane at the perimeter of a bed, and for areas where pets or children would disturb a finer aggregate. At 20kg, the bag holds a modest number of stones given their size, so cobbles are generally used as a feature or accent rather than to cover a large area. For a fuller spread, several bags or a bulk bag will be needed.
