Longrake Green Slate is a natural slate chipping in muted green and grey-green tones, supplied in a 20kg handy bag. The 20mm size suits borders and flower beds, planters and pot toppings, rockeries, water features, and decorative dressing around patios, paths, and planting.

Slate lies differently from rounded gravel. Each piece is flat and plate-like, so the chippings settle into overlapping layers that cover more ground for the volume used and knit into a close, even surface. Over a weed membrane, those layers block light from the soil beneath and keep weeds down while letting rain drain straight through. The green colouring is natural to the stone rather than applied, and deepens noticeably when wet.

Green slate is the quieter of the slate colours. Where blue slate contrasts with planting, green blends into it, sitting comfortably with foliage, ferns, and shaded woodland-style beds, and looking particularly natural around ponds and water features. At 20kg, the bag is sized for smaller areas and for topping up where slate has settled over time, can be carried and poured by one person, and lets customers try the colour against their planting before committing to more. A depth of around 40mm is usually enough for decorative use. Larger areas are more economically covered with a bulk bag.
