Product Description:
Our regularised sawn timber is a high-quality construction timber supplied in cut lengths and machined to a consistent size on all four faces. Suitable for floor and ceiling joists, roof timbers, stud partitions, noggins, wall plates, and general framing work, it is used across both domestic and commercial construction as well as by DIY installers.
Regularising is the process of planing the sawn timber to an even section along its full length, removing the variation found in rough sawn stock. This gives a smoother finish, cleaner edges, and a consistent depth from one length to the next, so joists line through correctly and boards or plasterboard sit flat across them without packing or scribing. The result is quicker, more accurate work on site and a better finished surface.
Kiln drying reduces the moisture content of the timber before it leaves the mill, which improves stability and limits the shrinkage, twisting, and cupping that can occur as wet timber dries out in a finished building. This makes it well suited to structural work and to any application where the timber will be covered or fixed permanently in place. Cut ends should be treated where the timber is in a location requiring preservative protection, and lengths are best stored flat and under cover before use.
Image shown for illustrative purposes. Colour and finish variations, along with natural knots and movement in the timber, may occur due to the natural material of the product.
