Longrake Green Slate is a natural slate chipping in muted green and grey-green tones, supplied in a bulk bag. The 20mm size suits garden borders and flower beds, pathways, rockeries, water features, pot toppings, and decorative areas around patios and planting across domestic and commercial landscaping.

Slate behaves differently from rounded gravel once laid. The chippings are flat and plate-like, so they settle into overlapping layers that give good coverage for the volume used and knit into a close, even surface. Over a weed membrane, those layers block light from the soil beneath and keep weed growth down while still allowing water to drain through freely. The green colouring is natural to the stone rather than applied, and it deepens noticeably when wet, shifting the surface in appearance after rain.

Green slate is the softer, more natural-looking option against the blue and plum tones of the standard slate. It sits particularly well with foliage, ferns, and shaded woodland-style planting, where it blends into the greenery rather than contrasting against it, and works well around ponds and water features for the same reason. Supplied in a bulk bag, a depth of around 40mm is usually sufficient for decorative use. Coverage will vary with depth. Slate is not suitable for driveways, as the flat pieces fracture under vehicle weight.
