Blue Circle Quality Assured Mortar Mix is a pre-blended general-purpose mortar of cement, hydrated lime, and specially graded sand, supplied in a 20kg weatherproof bag. Suitable for most brick and block applications, it is used for building garden and boundary walls, laying bricks and blocks on extensions and outbuildings, repointing, bedding copings and sills, and general masonry repair across both interior and exterior work.

The pre-blended format is what makes this mix so convenient. The cement, lime, and sand are proportioned consistently in every bag, so there is no need to buy, store, and measure separate materials, and every batch mixes to the same strength and colour. That consistency matters on smaller jobs in particular, where hand-mixing a few buckets at a time from loose materials tends to produce variation from one batch to the next, which shows in the finished joints.

The hydrated lime and plasticiser give the mix a smooth, buttery consistency that spreads easily on the trowel, holds well on the vertical face of a brick, and stays workable for longer, making it more forgiving for DIY bricklayers as well as quick to use for trades. Lime also gives the cured mortar a degree of flexibility, helping it tolerate small movements in the wall without cracking. Simply add clean water and mix to a workable consistency. The weatherproof plastic bag keeps the contents dry in storage and on site, so part-used bags can be resealed and kept for later.
