Our Black Drywall Screws are designed for fixing plasterboard to metal stud, drywall track, and ceiling track systems. Supplied in a box of 1,000, they are suitable for partition walls, suspended and MF ceilings, wall linings, and general dry lining work across domestic and commercial projects.

The bugle-shaped head is what sets a drywall screw apart from a general-purpose screw. It seats neatly into the face of the board without tearing through the paper liner, leaving a shallow, clean recess that is easily filled and finished with jointing compound or skim plaster. The sharp point and thread are designed to pierce and grip light-gauge steel quickly, and the black phosphate coating gives the screw a degree of corrosion resistance while helping it drive smoothly.

At 38mm, this length suits single-layer 12.5mm and 15mm plasterboard, giving enough penetration into the track or stud for a secure fixing without excess protruding behind. Drive with a drywall screw gun or a cordless driver fitted with a depth-setting attachment, setting the head just below the board surface without breaking the paper. Fixings are typically placed at 300mm centres along studs and 230mm centres at board edges and on ceilings, though the plasterboard manufacturer's recommendations should always be followed.
