Our 45 x 95mm Treated Sawn Timber is a strong, versatile pressure treated softwood supplied in 4.8m lengths. Suitable for stud walls and partitions, internal framing, wall plates and sole plates, shed and workshop construction, fence framing, decking substructures, and general landscaping and outdoor timber work, it is a mainstay section for builders, joiners, and DIY installers alike.

At 4.8m, this is the length to buy for larger projects and longer runs. It carries head and sole plates across a full wall or a large open-plan space in a single piece, removing the joints that weaken a frame and cost time to set out, and on repetitive work it cuts down efficiently — two 2.4m studs from one length with nothing left over — which usually works out cheaper per metre than buying to length and leaves far less waste on site.

Pressure treatment drives preservative deep into the timber under vacuum rather than leaving it sitting on the surface, protecting against fungal decay, rot, and insect attack, and allowing the timber to be used outdoors and in damp locations as well as internally. The sawn finish is left rough from the saw, which suits structural work where strength matters more than appearance and keeps the cost below planed or regularised stock. Fix with galvanised or stainless nails and screws, as the preservative will corrode untreated steel over time, and treat any cut ends with end grain preservative.
