Our 20mm Shingle Bulk Bag is a washed natural aggregate supplied in a blend of rounded stones in grey, brown, cream, and beige. Suitable for driveways, parking areas, garden paths, borders, patios, water features, drainage runs, and general decorative landscaping, it is one of the most widely used aggregates on both domestic and commercial sites.

The larger 20mm stone size is what makes this grade particularly well suited to driveways and vehicle areas. The stones knit together more readily than finer gravels, so the surface holds its shape under wheel traffic and is less inclined to scatter or migrate towards the edges of a drive. The rounded profile allows water to drain through freely, making it equally effective as a drainage and soakaway aggregate, while the washed finish means the stone arrives clean and shows its colour properly once laid.

Supplied in a bulk bag containing approximately 850kg, it covers around 12–14m² at a 50mm depth, though actual coverage will vary with the depth laid and the surface beneath. For driveways a depth of 50mm or more over a compacted, well-drained base is usually recommended, and laying over a weed membrane will keep the stone separated from the soil below and reduce maintenance. Once down, the surface needs little more than an occasional rake to keep it looking even.
