It is used for insulating and lining solid walls internally, upgrading cold external walls in older and non-cavity properties, insulating dormers, ceilings, and room-in-roof spaces, and for garage and outbuilding conversions.

An insulated board does two jobs in one fix. Rather than battening a wall, fitting insulation between the battens, and boarding over the top, the board goes straight onto the wall and the room is insulated and ready to skim in a single operation. At 50mm of PIR, this board roughly doubles the insulation of the 25mm version while adding only 25mm to the overall thickness, which makes it the size most commonly chosen where a genuine improvement in warmth is the goal rather than a light upgrade — solid-wall Victorian and Edwardian houses in particular, where uninsulated brickwork loses heat rapidly.

At 2400 x 1200mm, each board covers 2.88m² and the tapered edge allows joints to be taped and filled flush or skim plastered as preferred. Boards can be fixed with drywall adhesive dabs or mechanically with insulated plasterboard fixings, depending on the substrate and its condition. Allowance needs to be made for the 62.5mm depth when planning sockets, switches, radiator positions, window reveals, skirting, and door linings, as all of these move forward with the new wall face.

Specification:

Coverage

2.88m2

Depth

62.5mm

Length

2400mm

Length - Imperial

8ft

Thermal Conductivity

0.022W/mk

Thickness

625mm

Width

1200mm

Width - Imperial

4ft

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1016/7759/6999/files/InsulatedPlasterboard_12.5mm_60mmPIR_72.5x2400x1200mm_9046a3c3-4089-41c1-86a0-1323dae1a25e.jpg?v=1791879176
