Supplied in a Maxi Bag, it is used to finish new block paved driveways, patios, paths, and parking areas, and to top up joints on existing paving where the original sand has washed out or been lost to pressure washing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe kiln drying process is what makes this sand suitable for the job. Removing all moisture leaves the grains loose and free-flowing, so they run fully into the narrow gaps between blocks rather than bridging and clogging at the surface as damp sand does. Once the joints are packed, the sand locks each block against its neighbours, preventing sideways movement and distributing load across the whole paved area. Without it, blocks shift, rock, and gradually work loose under foot and vehicle traffic.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eTo apply, make sure the paving is completely dry, then spread the sand across the surface and brush it into the joints in several directions until they are full. Run a vibrating plate over the paving with a protective mat fitted to settle the sand down into the joints, then brush in more sand and repeat until the joints stay full. Sweep off any excess from the surface. Well-filled joints also help resist weed growth and ant activity.
